Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Sheffield
Pay Rate: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are recruiting enthusiastic and dependable Teaching Assistant (TA) to work in vibrant schools across Sheffield. We are keen to hear from individuals who enjoy supporting young people, can work closely with teaching staff, and are able to provide additional guidance to learners with different abilities and needs.

The Teaching Assistant supports classroom learning by helping students understand tasks, stay engaged with activities, and develop the skills and independence needed to make progress.

Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers with lessons and planned classroom activities
  • Provide one-to-one support to learners who require additional help
  • Work with small groups to reinforce key skills and lesson content
  • Explain instructions and help students complete assigned tasks
  • Encourage participation, independence, and positive classroom behaviour
  • Prepare learning resources and help maintain an organised classroom

Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people
  • Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification is advantageous
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to support different learning abilities and individual needs
  • Patient, reliable, and able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
