Job Title: Attendance Officer
Location: Sheffield
Pay Rate: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are working closely with schools in Sheffield that require organised and responsible Attendance Officer. We would like to hear from individuals who can maintain accurate records, communicate effectively with families and school staff, and provide practical support to address barriers that may affect regular attendance.
The Attendance Officer plays an important role in monitoring attendance, identifying concerns, and working with students, families, and school teams to encourage consistent attendance.
Attendance Officer Responsibilities:
- Monitor and record daily student attendance accurately
- Follow up on unexplained absences and repeated lateness
- Contact parents and carers regarding attendance concerns
- Identify patterns of absence that may require further support
- Work with pastoral and safeguarding teams to address attendance issues
- Maintain accurate records and prepare attendance reports when required
Attendance Officer Requirements:
- Previous experience in a school, administrative, pastoral, or similar role is desirable
- Strong organisation and record-keeping skills
- Confident communication with students, families, and school staff
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly
- Good computer skills and attention to detail
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
