Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Doncaster
Pay Rate: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term
Do you have the confidence to manage a classroom, give clear instructions, and keep learning on track when a teacher is absent?
GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are recruiting confident and responsible Cover Supervisor (CS) to work with amazing schools in Doncaster. We are interested in individuals who can communicate well with young people, maintain a focused classroom, and supervise prepared lessons across a variety of subjects and year groups.
The Cover Supervisor ensures students continue with their learning by introducing set work, maintaining classroom routines, and providing appropriate guidance throughout the lesson.
Cover Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Supervise classes during planned or unexpected teacher absence
- Introduce lesson materials and tasks prepared by teaching staff
- Help learners understand instructions and remain focused on their work
- Manage classroom behaviour using the school’s agreed policies
- Encourage students to work independently and complete assigned activities
- Record any concerns or important information for the regular teacher
Cover Supervisor Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
- Confidence supervising groups within a classroom environment
- Good communication and behaviour management skills
- Ability to follow prepared work and established school procedures
- Calm, organised, and flexible approach to different classes and subjects
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
