Job Title: Computer Studies Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are keen to hear from knowledgeable Computer Studies (CS) Teacher to work in schools across Barnsley. This opportunity would suit qualified educators who can make computing clear and interesting, encourage students to explore digital technology, and build their confidence through practical learning.

The Computer Studies Teacher supports learners in developing their knowledge of programming, computer systems, and digital technology while strengthening their logical and problem-solving skills.

Computer Studies Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Computer Studies lessons across relevant year groups
  • Teach coding and programming through clear and practical activities
  • Help students understand computer systems, networks, and software
  • Encourage learners to use logical thinking when solving technical problems
  • Monitor progress through projects, classwork, and assessments
  • Support young people with revision and preparation for examinations

Computer Studies Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential
  • Experience teaching Computer Studies, Computing, or ICT within a school
  • Good knowledge of programming and digital technologies
  • Ability to explain technical concepts in a simple and engaging way
  • Strong communication, planning, and classroom management skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
