Salary: Up to £200 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

Are you a dedicated teacher who understands the importance of building confidence, resilience and positive relationships with young people? A supportive school in Sheffield is looking for an SEMH Teacher to join their team from September.
About the Role:
As an SEMH Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs. You will create a structured classroom environment, adapt your teaching where needed and use positive behaviour strategies to help pupils engage with learning and make progress.
You will work closely with colleagues to support pupils both academically and personally, while maintaining high expectations and providing consistent classroom routines.

Staff work collaboratively to promote positive behaviour, encourage engagement with learning and help pupils develop the skills they need to succeed.
Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver appropriate lessons that meet the needs of pupils with SEMH needs.

Adapt teaching approaches and learning activities to support individual pupils.

Assess, monitor and record pupil progress.

Establish clear routines and maintain a positive classroom environment.

Use effective behaviour management strategies consistently.

Build positive and professional relationships with pupils.

Work closely with colleagues and support staff to meet pupils' individual needs.

Contribute to wider school activities and pupil development where appropriate.
Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

Experience teaching pupils with SEMH needs or within a specialist setting.

Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.

Ability to adapt teaching to meet individual learning and behavioural needs.

Good communication and organisational skills.

A patient, consistent and supportive approach to teaching.

An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
