Pay Rate: £90 - £120 per day (depending on experience)

Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education Newcastle Branch are seeking dedicated SEND Teacher to work in inclusive schools across Newcastle. We would like to hear from the educators who can adapt their teaching to meet a diverse range of special educational needs and disabilities. Working alongside SENCOs, teaching assistants, and other professionals, the teacher will provide personalised learning experiences that recognise individual strengths, address barriers, and encourage every pupil to make progress.
The Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teacher will have the opportunity to deliver individualised and accessible learning, supporting pupils to develop academically, socially, and emotionally within a structured and inclusive environment.
Responsibilities of SEND Teacher:
- Create personalised lessons that reflect pupils' individual abilities, targets, and learning profiles
- Use differentiated resources and alternative teaching approaches to make learning accessible
- Establish clear routines that provide consistency and help pupils feel secure in the classroom
- Track progress against individual targets and adjust teaching approaches based on pupil development
- Incorporate communication, independence, and life skills into everyday learning where appropriate
- Coordinate with SENCOs, support staff, families, and external professionals to maintain consistent provision
Requirements for SEND Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is desirable
- Previous experience teaching pupils with SEND or working within a specialist educational setting or similar
- Knowledge of differentiated teaching and individualised learning approaches
- Ability to respond flexibly to a broad range of learning, communication, and behavioural needs
- Patient, organised, and committed approach to inclusive education
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
