Pay Rate: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience)

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are inviting applications from dedicated Behaviour Support professionals to work in thriving school across Sheffield. This role is well suited to individuals who can provide calm, consistent guidance for pupils experiencing behavioural, emotional, or social challenges. Working as part of a wider support team, you will help pupils develop the confidence and skills needed to participate successfully in school life.

The Behaviour Support professional provides targeted pastoral support, encourages positive behaviour, and works collaboratively with school staff to create an environment where pupils feel supported, respected, and ready to learn.

Behaviour Support Responsibilities:

  • Deliver structured one-to-one mentoring sessions to promote positive behavioural change
  • Support pupils in setting and achieving personal, behavioural, and academic goals
  • Encourage effective conflict resolution and positive peer relationships through daily interactions
  • Assist staff in implementing personalised behaviour and wellbeing strategies
  • Monitor pupil wellbeing and report emerging concerns through appropriate safeguarding procedures
  • Promote consistency by reinforcing school values, expectations, and reward systems

Behaviour Support Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people in education, care, youth work, or mentoring
  • Ability to build professional relationships with pupils who require additional support
  • Strong emotional resilience and confidence managing challenging situations
  • Excellent communication and active listening skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and promoting positive outcomes
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
