Job Title: Sports Coach
Location: Barnsley
Salary: £460 – £650 per week (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Part-time / Full-time
GSL Education South Yorkshire are delighted to be working with welcoming and supportive schools in the Barnsley area to recruit a passionate and energetic Sports Coach. This exciting opportunity is ideal for individuals who are enthusiastic about sport, physical education, and helping young people develop confidence, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles through engaging activities and learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities of the Sports Coach:
- Deliver engaging sports sessions, PE lessons, and physical activities across a range of age groups.
- Support pupils in developing physical skills, teamwork, confidence, and sportsmanship.
- Lead small group interventions and extracurricular sports activities where required.
- Work closely with teaching staff to promote positive behaviour and pupil engagement.
- Encourage participation from all pupils, ensuring an inclusive and supportive environment.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers and school staff.
Requirements for the Sports Coach Role:
- Previous experience working with children or young people in a coaching, sports, education, or mentoring capacity.
- A recognised coaching qualification is desirable but not essential.
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to motivate and inspire pupils.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for sport, health, fitness, and supporting young people's development.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
