Teaching Assistant
Location: Barnsley
Salary: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education South Yorkshire are seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to work in schools across Barnsley.
The successful Teaching Assistant will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning, helping to create a positive and engaging classroom environment. This rewarding role involves working closely with teachers and pupils to promote academic progress, confidence, and achievement.
Responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant:
- Support teachers in the delivery of engaging lessons and classroom activities.
- Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning.
- Assist with classroom preparation and organisation of learning resources.
- Encourage positive behaviour and active participation in lessons.
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
- Support pupils with classwork and learning activities across the curriculum.
- Promote students' confidence, independence, and achievement.
Requirements of a Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational, childcare, or support setting is desirable.
- CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or an equivalent qualification is desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive, proactive, and flexible approach to supporting learning.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
- Commitment to helping pupils reach their full potential.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
