Job Title: Behaviour Support
Location: Rotherham
Pay Rate: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are looking to appoint Behaviour Support professionals for thriving schools in Rotherham. We are seeking resilient, empathetic, and proactive individuals who can build positive relationships with pupils, promote constructive behaviour, and provide the guidance needed to help young people engage successfully with their education.
The Behaviour Support role offers the opportunity to work closely with teaching and pastoral teams, providing consistent behavioural guidance and emotional support to create a calm, inclusive, and productive learning environment.
Behaviour Support Responsibilities:
- Build trusting relationships with pupils to encourage positive behaviour and engagement
- Provide targeted support for pupils experiencing behavioural, emotional, or social challenges
- Implement behaviour management strategies in line with school policies
- Support teachers in maintaining a focused and respectful classroom environment
- Record behavioural observations and share progress with relevant staff members
- Encourage pupils to develop confidence, resilience, and appropriate social skills
Behaviour Support Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people in education, youth work, care, or a similar setting
- Strong behaviour management and conflict resolution skills
- Calm, patient, and consistent approach when supporting challenging behaviour
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families
- Commitment to promoting pupil wellbeing and inclusion
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
