Job Title: Design and Technology Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are seeking enthusiastic Design and Technology Teacher for schools in Barnsley. We are looking for creative and dedicated educators who can deliver engaging lessons, develop pupils' practical skills, and encourage innovation through hands-on learning and problem-solving.

The Design and Technology Teacher role allows you to inspire the next generation of designers, engineers, and innovators by delivering engaging lessons that develop technical knowledge, creativity, and independent thinking.

D&T Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Design and Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Teach practical and theoretical concepts using a range of materials, tools, and techniques
  • Assess, monitor, and record pupils' progress to support their development
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities
  • Maintain a safe, organised, and well-equipped workshop or classroom environment
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to promote high standards of teaching and learning

DT Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential
  • Experience teaching Design and Technology in a school setting
  • Strong classroom management and lesson planning skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities
  • Passion for delivering engaging, practical learning experiences
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
