Job Title: Behaviour Support (Primary)
Location: Sheffield S5
Salary: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time
Start Date: September 2026
Are you passionate about helping primary-aged children overcome challenges and thrive in the classroom? A welcoming primary school in the Sheffield S5 area is looking for a caring and proactive Behaviour Support professional to join their team from September.
About the Role:
As a Behaviour Support (Primary), you will work closely with class teachers and support staff to provide tailored behavioural and pastoral support for pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2. You will help children develop positive relationships, manage their emotions and remain engaged in learning, creating a calm and encouraging classroom environment where every child has the opportunity to succeed.

Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small group behaviour support for primary-aged pupils.

Work alongside class teachers to promote positive behaviour and engagement in lessons.

Support children with emotional regulation and social development.

Encourage positive interactions during classroom activities and breaktimes.

Help create a safe, structured and welcoming learning environment.

Monitor pupil progress and share observations with teaching staff where appropriate.
Requirements:
-
Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

A patient, calm and consistent approach to behaviour support.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
-
A genuine commitment to supporting children's learning and wellbeing.

Experience within a primary school or behaviour support role is advantageous.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
