About the Role:

This is a school-based classroom support role rather than a sports delivery position. As a Sports Coach / Learning Support, you will use the transferable skills gained through coaching, such as behaviour management, motivation, resilience and teamwork, to support pupils throughout the school day. You will work alongside teachers to provide classroom support, assist with learning activities, supervise lessons when required, and encourage positive behaviour while helping students remain engaged in their education.

About the School:

This inclusive school is committed to providing a supportive learning environment where every pupil is encouraged to reach their potential. Staff work closely together to maintain high expectations, strong pastoral support and positive relationships, ensuring students feel safe, respected and ready to learn.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide classroom support across a range of lessons and year groups.

  • Encourage positive behaviour and help pupils remain engaged in learning.

  • Support students with additional learning or emotional needs where required.

  • Assist with cover supervision in the absence of the class teacher.

  • Build positive relationships with students, staff and parents where appropriate.

  • Help maintain a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience in sports coaching, fitness, mentoring or youth work is desirable.

  • A genuine interest in supporting children and young people within education.

  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills.

  • Confidence working with individuals and small groups.

  • A positive, resilient and adaptable approach.

  • Previous school-based experience is beneficial but not essential.
