Salary Scale: £92 – £110 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are currently searching for a caring, enthusiastic, and committed Teaching Assistant to work across primary, secondary, and specialist educational settings in York and the surrounding areas.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about education and eager to make a meaningful difference in the classroom. Working alongside teachers and support staff, you will help pupils develop academically, socially, and emotionally while promoting confidence, independence, and a love of learning.
About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide classroom support to teachers while working with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning, encourage participation, and help create a positive and inclusive learning environment. This varied role offers the opportunity to support learners with a wide range of abilities and educational needs.
Core Responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant:
- Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective learning activities
- Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning and encourage progress
- Promote positive behaviour, confidence, and active participation in lessons
- Assist in preparing classroom resources and maintaining an organised learning environment
- Support pupils with additional learning needs where appropriate
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to promote positive educational outcomes
As the Ideal Teaching Assistant, You Should Have:
- Experience working with children or young people in an educational, childcare, or support setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, positive, and adaptable approach to supporting learners
- Ability to build strong relationships and work effectively as part of a team
- Good organisational skills and a proactive attitude towards learning support
- A genuine passion for helping children and young people achieve their full potential
To Work with GSL Education, You Must:
- Have the right to work in the UK
- Provide an up-to-date CV with relevant reference information covering the last 2 years
- Have recent experience working with children or young people
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
