Salary Scale: £92 – £110 per day (Depending on experience)
Are you a recent Psychology Graduate looking to begin a rewarding career supporting young people in education?
GSL Education Hull Branch are currently looking for a Psychology Graduate to work across a range of supportive and inclusive secondary schools in York. We are looking for an empathetic, motivated, and enthusiastic graduate who is keen to apply their knowledge of psychology to support students with a variety of learning, behavioural, and emotional needs while gaining valuable experience within education.
Psychology Graduate Role:
The successful Psychology Graduate will work closely with teachers and pastoral teams to provide classroom support, deliver targeted interventions, and help students overcome barriers to learning. We are looking to recruit a Psychology Graduate who can build positive relationships with young people, encourage emotional wellbeing, and support students in achieving their academic and personal goals.
Psychology Graduate Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with a range of learning and wellbeing needs
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and adapting learning activities where required
- Support students with SEND, SEMH, Autism, ADHD, or other additional needs
- Encourage positive behaviour, emotional resilience, and engagement in learning
- Monitor student progress and communicate observations with teaching and pastoral staff
- Work collaboratively with teachers, families, and external professionals to promote positive student outcomes
Psychology Graduate Requirements:
- A degree in Psychology
- A genuine interest in pursuing a career in education, educational psychology, counselling, or youth support
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
- A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach to supporting young people
- A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities
- An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
