Pay: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)

Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branchare looking to appoint a Geography Teacher for thriving schools in Barnsley. We are seeking knowledgeable and enthusiastic educators who can deliver engaging lessons, encourage geographical enquiry, and help students develop a deeper understanding of the world's physical and human environments.

The Geography Teacher position offers the opportunity to inspire curiosity, strengthen analytical thinking, and help students explore local, national, and global issues through meaningful learning experiences.

Geography Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Geography lessons in line with the National Curriculum
  • Encourage students to develop geographical knowledge, enquiry, and fieldwork skills
  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement
  • Create a positive classroom environment that promotes curiosity and independent thinking
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum planning and student success

Geography Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential
  • Experience teaching Geography in a school setting
  • Strong subject knowledge and understanding of effective teaching strategies
  • Ability to inspire students through engaging and interactive lessons
  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
