Job Title: Design and Technology Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Pay: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are recruiting Design and Technology Teachers for amazing schools in Barnsley. We are seeking a creative, motivated, and knowledgeable educators who can deliver engaging lessons, develop practical skills, and encourage students to think critically through design and innovation.

The Design and Technology Teacher position provides an excellent opportunity to equip students with the practical knowledge, technical ability, and creative thinking skills needed for future success.

Design and Technology Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Design and Technology lessons in line with the National Curriculum
  • Develop students' practical, creative, and problem-solving skills through hands-on learning
  • Prepare and supervise practical activities while maintaining high health and safety standards
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement
  • Foster a classroom environment that encourages creativity, innovation, and independent thinking
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum planning and departmental development

Design and Technology Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential
  • Experience teaching Design and Technology in a school setting
  • Strong subject knowledge across relevant Design and Technology disciplines
  • Ability to deliver engaging practical and theoretical lessons
  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
