Salary Scale: £102 – £120 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education Hull branch are currently seeking reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Scarborough and the surrounding areas. As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes using pre-prepared lesson plans, ensuring students remain engaged and focused on their learning. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced education professionals looking to gain valuable classroom experience within a supportive school environment.
Main Responsibilities as a Cover Supervisor:
- Supervise lessons using pre-set work and ensure students remain focused and engaged throughout the lesson.
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies to maintain a positive learning environment.
- Provide guidance and support to students while encouraging independent learning.
- Record attendance and provide feedback to teaching staff on student engagement and behaviour.
- Respond appropriately to classroom issues and report any safeguarding or welfare concerns.
- Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral teams to support students' learning and wellbeing.
Cover Supervisor Minimum Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational, coaching, mentoring, or youth work setting is desirable.
- Confidence in managing groups of secondary-aged students independently.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm, organised, and adaptable in a busy school environment.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
