GSL Education Newcastle are seeking dedicated Site Supervisors to work in schools across Middlesbrough, helping to maintain safe, secure, and well-maintained premises that support effective teaching and learning.
The School Site Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, security, and smooth operation of the school site. This role is ideal for someone with practical maintenance skills, excellent organisational abilities, and a strong commitment to ensuring a safe environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Responsibilities of a School Site Supervisor:
- Open and close the school premises, ensuring site security at all times.
- Carry out routine maintenance, minor repairs, and basic DIY tasks across the school.
- Monitor the condition of buildings, grounds, and facilities, reporting any major repairs required.
- Conduct regular health and safety checks, ensuring compliance with school policies and procedures.
- Oversee contractors and visitors working on site where required.
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of external areas, including pathways and playgrounds.
- Assist with room setups for school events, meetings, and activities.
- Ensure maintenance equipment and supplies are stored safely and used appropriately.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and site-related issues as they arise.
Requirements of a Site Supervisor:
- Previous experience in a site supervision, caretaking, facilities, or maintenance role is desirable.
- Good practical maintenance and DIY skills.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations within a workplace.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Reliable, flexible, and proactive approach to work.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming school environment.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
