Job Title: Behaviour Support (Secondary)
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time
Start Date: September 2026
Are you confident supporting young people and helping them overcome barriers to learning? A welcoming secondary school in Sheffield is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support professional to join their team from September 2026.
About the Role:
As a Behaviour Support (Secondary), you will play a key role in helping students develop positive behaviours and remain engaged in their learning. Working closely with teachers, pastoral teams and senior staff, you will provide classroom support, build positive relationships with pupils and encourage a calm, structured environment where students can succeed both academically and personally.

Responsibilities:

Support students with behaviour, engagement and emotional regulation throughout the school day.

Work alongside teachers to provide effective classroom support.

Build positive and professional relationships with individual students and small groups.

Encourage positive attitudes towards learning and participation in lessons.

Help maintain a safe, calm and well-structured learning environment.

Record observations and communicate relevant information with teaching and pastoral staff.
Requirements:
-
Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

Experience supporting behaviour in an educational or similar setting is advantageous.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

A calm, patient and resilient approach.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

A genuine commitment to helping young people achieve their potential.

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
