Salary: Up to £200 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

Are you a compassionate and resilient teacher who is passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional and mental health needs? A welcoming specialist setting in Sheffield is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teacher to join their team from September 2026.

About the Role:

As an SEMH Teacher, you will deliver engaging and well-planned lessons tailored to the individual learning, emotional and behavioural needs of your pupils. You will build positive relationships, adapt your teaching to encourage progress and confidence, and create a structured classroom where students feel safe, respected and motivated to succeed. This role offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference to young people's educational journeys while working alongside a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with SEMH.

  • Assess, monitor and record student progress.

  • Adapt teaching strategies to support a range of learning and behavioural needs.

  • Create a positive, structured and inclusive classroom environment.

  • Manage behaviour consistently using the school's policies and strategies.

  • Work closely with colleagues, parents, carers and external professionals where appropriate.

  • Contribute to pupils' personal development and overall wellbeing.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Experience teaching children or young people with SEMH, SEND or additional needs.

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • A patient, resilient and adaptable approach to teaching.

  • An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
