Job Title: Early Years Practitioner
Location: Sheffield
Pay: £460–£600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire branch are keen to appoint Early Years Practitioner to work in supportive schools in Sheffield. The ideal candidate will be caring, enthusiastic, and committed to providing high-quality early years education that supports children's learning, development, and wellbeing.

The Early Years Practitioner is going to nurture children's curiosity, encourage their independence, and help them achieve key developmental milestones through engaging play and structured learning.

Early Years Practitioner Responsibilities:

  • Deliver stimulating activities that promote learning through play and exploration
  • Support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment where every child can flourish
  • Observe children's progress and contribute to learning records and developmental assessments
  • Work closely with colleagues and families to support each child's individual needs
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding and early years practice

Early Years Practitioner Requirements:

  • Previous experience working within an Early Years setting is desirable
  • Good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
  • Ability to build positive relationships with young children, families, and colleagues
  • Caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach to supporting early childhood development
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
