Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Wakefield WF6
Pay: £120–£130 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term
Are you confident leading a classroom and ensuring students remain engaged in the teacher's absence?
GSL Education South Yorkshire branch are looking to appoint Cover Supervisor (CS) for schools in Wakefield WF6. We would like to hear from organised and adaptable person who can confidently supervise lessons, maintain a positive learning environment, and support students in achieving their learning objectives.
The CS position offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience while supporting schools with the smooth delivery of lessons across a range of subjects.
Cover Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Supervise pre-planned lessons and ensure students remain focused throughout the school day
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's policies and expectations
- Provide guidance and encouragement to help pupils complete the work set by teaching staff
- Report on lesson outcomes, attendance, and any behavioural concerns
- Build positive relationships with students and members of the school team
- Promote a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment
Cover Supervisor Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
- Confident managing groups of students in a classroom setting
- Good communication and organisational skills with a professional approach
- Ability to remain calm, adaptable, and decisive in different situations
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of behaviour and safeguarding
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
