Job Title: Youth Worker
Location: Stockton-on-Tees
Pay: £90–£120 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education Newcastle branch are giving an opportunity for Youth Workers to join supportive schools in Stockton-on-Tees. We would like to hear from motivated individuals who can build positive relationships with students, provide pastoral support, and encourage young people to develop confidence, resilience, and positive behaviours.

The position focuses on empowering students to build confidence, resilience, and the skills needed to succeed in education.

Youth Worker Responsibilities:

  • Build positive relationships that encourage trust, engagement, and personal development
  • Support pupils experiencing social, emotional, or behavioural challenges throughout the school day
  • Work alongside teachers and pastoral teams to promote student wellbeing and inclusion
  • Deliver targeted interventions that help improve confidence, resilience, and self-esteem
  • Respond appropriately to challenging situations while maintaining a calm and supportive approach
  • Encourage a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all students

Youth Worker Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
  • Ability to build strong professional relationships with students and colleagues
  • Confident supporting pupils with a range of social, emotional, and behavioural needs
  • Good understanding of safeguarding and behaviour management principles
  • Resilient, approachable, and committed to achieving positive outcomes for young people
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
