SEN Teaching Assistant

GSL Education is currently seeking enthusiastic and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to work with our partner schools across Grantham and the surrounding areas. Whether you're looking for flexible supply work, a long-term placement, or a full-time opportunity, we have a range of roles to suit your availability and career aspirations.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll have the opportunity to work across Primary Schools, Secondary Schools, and Specialist SEN/SEMH settings, supporting pupils with a variety of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Every day offers the chance to make a real difference in a young person's educational journey.

The Role:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging, inclusive lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Support pupils' academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and social development.
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage independence within the classroom.
  • Adapt your support to meet the diverse needs of pupils across different educational settings.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals where required.

What We're Looking For:

  • Availability to work part-time or full-time.
  • Flexibility to work on a supply basis or commit to long-term/full-time placements.
  • Previous experience working within an educational setting, care, support work, or a similar role is essential.
  • Relevant qualifications in Education, Childcare, Health & Social Care, SEND, or a related field are desirable.
  • A caring, patient, and proactive approach to supporting children and young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
