Salary: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Are you looking for an opportunity to support pupils with additional needs and make a lasting impact in the classroom? A welcoming school in Sheffield is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.
About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored classroom support to pupils with a range of special educational needs, helping them access learning and build confidence throughout the school day. Working closely with teachers and the SEN team, you will adapt activities where needed, encourage independence and contribute to a positive, structured learning environment where every pupil has the opportunity to succeed.

Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with special educational needs.

Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible lessons.

Support pupils with communication, emotional wellbeing and social development.

Encourage positive behaviour and active participation in classroom activities.

Help implement individual education and support plans.

Monitor pupil progress and share observations with teaching staff where appropriate.
Requirements:
-
Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

Experience supporting pupils with SEN is advantageous.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

A patient, caring and adaptable approach.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

A genuine commitment to helping young people achieve their potential.

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
