Are you a recent Sports Graduate looking to kick-start your career in education?
GSL Education are recruiting for an enthusiastic and motivated Sports Graduate to join a welcoming secondary school in Scunthorpe. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates considering a career in teaching, coaching, educational psychology or youth work, where you can gain valuable classroom experience while making a positive impact on young people's lives.
The role involves supporting students both in and out of the classroom, promoting engagement, encouraging positive behaviour and helping pupils to achieve their full potential. Your sporting background will enable you to build strong relationships with students, acting as a positive role model and using teamwork, resilience and communication skills to inspire young people.
The Role:
- Support students during lessons and throughout the school day.
- Deliver intervention sessions and small group activities.
- Encourage positive behaviour and student engagement.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
- Support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and those displaying challenging behaviours.
- Assist with PE lessons and extracurricular sports activities where required.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold a degree in Sports, Sports Coaching, Physical Education or a related subject.
- Be available to work full-time, Monday to Friday.
- Have experience working with children or young people through coaching, mentoring, tutoring or youth work (desirable).
- Be confident supporting students with SEN and challenging behaviours.
- Have excellent communication skills, patience and resilience.
- Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
