Job Title: Support Worker
Location: Newcastle
Pay: £90–£115 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education are seeking a Support Worker to join amazing schools in Newcastle. The ideal candidate will be able to build positive relationships with students, promote independence, and provide tailored support that helps learners overcome barriers to education.

The Support Worker has the opportunity to make a real difference by supporting students' wellbeing, confidence, and overall development in a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and small-group support to meet students' learning and wellbeing needs
  • Encourage positive behaviour and help students develop confidence and independence
  • Support students during classroom activities, break times, and educational outings where required
  • Assist with implementing personalised support strategies alongside teaching staff
  • Recognise and respond appropriately to students' emotional and social needs
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate progress with the wider support team

Support Worker Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting children, young people, or vulnerable individuals is desirable
  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in challenging situations
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusting relationships
  • Understanding of safeguarding practices and student wellbeing
  • Flexible approach with a genuine passion for supporting others
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
