Job Title: Secondary Teacher
Location: Malton, North Yorkshire
Contract: Part time, Full Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026 or sooner
Salary: £168.80 – £261.79 per day

As a Secondary Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning, helping students to develop academically, socially, and personally. You will work within a supportive school environment that is committed to fostering achievement, ambition, and a lifelong love of learning.
Main Responsibilities as a Secondary Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons in line with the national curriculum and relevant examination specifications.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes learning and achievement.
- Differentiate teaching approaches to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and educational needs.
- Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing constructive feedback to support development.
- Encourage students to become confident, independent, and motivated learners.
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, attendance, and academic performance.
- Support students' personal, social, and emotional development.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers to support student success.
- Contribute to curriculum development, enrichment activities, and wider school initiatives where appropriate.
- Uphold safeguarding policies and promote the welfare of all students.
Secondary Teacher Minimum Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching within a secondary school setting is desirable.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Excellent subject knowledge and a commitment to delivering high-quality education.
- Ability to engage, motivate, and inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
