Job Title: Behaviour Support (Primary)
Location: Sheffield S5
Salary: £460 – £600 per week
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term / Day-to-day
Start Date: Immediately

Are you passionate about supporting young children who need help with behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement in the classroom? A welcoming primary school in Sheffield S5 is seeking a committed Behaviour Support practitioner to join their team.

About the Role:
As a Behaviour Support (Primary) member of staff, you will work across classrooms and targeted support settings, helping pupils who may struggle with behaviour, focus or emotional regulation. You will support learning by promoting positive routines, de-escalating situations when needed, and encouraging engagement in lessons.

Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with behaviour and engagement across the primary classroom

  • Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to implement behaviour strategies

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils needing additional guidance

  • Help de-escalate situations calmly and consistently

  • Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation and participation in learning

  • Maintain a safe, structured and supportive classroom environment

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people is desirable

  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills

  • Calm, patient and resilient approach

  • Ability to build positive relationships with primary-aged pupils

  • Flexible, team-focused and supportive attitude

  • Interest in supporting behaviour and emotional development in primary education
