Job Title: Behaviour Support (Secondary)
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £460 – £600 per week
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term / Day-to-day
Start Date: Immediately

Are you committed to supporting young people who need help managing behaviour and engagement in a school setting? A supportive secondary school in Sheffield is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support practitioner to join their team.

About the Role:
As a Behaviour Support member of staff, you will work closely with teachers, pastoral teams and SEN staff to support pupils who may struggle with behaviour and engagement. You will help de-escalate situations, provide consistent support in lessons and encourage positive interactions across the school day.

Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with behaviour and engagement across the classroom

  • Work alongside teaching and pastoral staff to implement behaviour strategies

  • Help de-escalate challenging situations calmly and professionally

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support where required

  • Encourage positive behaviour, attendance and participation in learning

  • Maintain a structured and supportive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people is desirable

  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills

  • Calm, confident and resilient approach

  • Ability to build positive relationships with students

  • Team-focused and adaptable attitude

  • Interest in supporting behaviour and pastoral development in schools
