Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Rotherham
Pay: £460–£600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education are working with welcoming educational communities in Rotherham to appoint an SEN Teaching Assistant. We would like to hear from a caring and dedicated educator who can provide tailored support, encourage independence, and help students access learning with confidence.

The Special Educational Needs TA role offers a rewarding opportunity to support students with additional needs, helping them develop academically, socially, and emotionally.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support for students with Special Educational Needs
  • Adapt support strategies to meet individual learning and communication needs
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and active participation in lessons
  • Work closely with teaching staff to implement personalised learning plans
  • Support students with emotional, social, and behavioural development where required
  • Help create an inclusive environment where every learner can thrive

SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with additional learning needs is desirable
  • Understanding of SEN support strategies and inclusive education practices
  • Patient, empathetic, and supportive approach to student development
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
