SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to work full-time in a specialist setting in Brigg, Lincolnshire. This rewarding opportunity is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs and who have previous experience within Care, Support Work, or hold relevant qualifications.
The role involves working with pupils with a wide range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including those who may display challenging behaviours. Successful candidates must be calm under pressure, adaptable, and committed to creating a positive and supportive learning environment.
The Role:
- Support children and young people with a variety of SEND needs.
- Assist pupils both in the classroom and during wider school activities.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
- Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to support individual learning plans.
- Respond appropriately to challenging behaviours and help maintain a safe learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Must be available to work full-time.
- Previous experience in Care, Support Work, or possess relevant qualifications in education, health, or social care.
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND is highly desirable.
- Resilient, patient, and able to remain calm in challenging situations.
- Willing to undertake restraint and positive behaviour management training where required.
- Passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people.
