Teacher of Maths
Location: Malton, North Yorkshire
Contract: Full Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026 or sooner
Salary: £168.80 – £261.79 per day

GSL Education are currently recruiting for a skilled and enthusiastic Teacher of Math to undertake short-term cover and long-term placements within secondary schools in Malton and the surrounding areas.

About the Role:
As a Teacher of Math, you will deliver high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering a positive attitude towards mathematics and encouraging learners to develop confidence in applying mathematical concepts. You will create engaging learning experiences that challenge and support students of all abilities.
Key Responsibilities of the Teacher of Mathematics:
- Plan and deliver engaging and effective Mathematics lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Support learners in developing strong numeracy, reasoning, and problem-solving skills
- Differentiate learning activities to meet the needs of students with varying abilities
- Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback
- Prepare learners for internal assessments and external examinations
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management
- Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that promotes academic success
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum development and learner achievement
As the Ideal Teacher of Mathematics, You Should Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience teaching Mathematics within a secondary school setting
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for mathematics education
- Ability to motivate and inspire learners of varying abilities
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to achieving positive learner outcomes
- A proactive and collaborative approach to teaching and learning
To Work with GSL Education, You Must:
- Have the right to work in the UK
- Provide an up-to-date CV with relevant reference information covering the last 2 years
- Have recent experience teaching within an educational setting
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
