Job Title: Behaviour Support (Primary)

Salary: £460 – £600 per week
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term / Day-to-day

Are you passionate about supporting children with behavioural and emotional needs in a primary school setting? A welcoming and nurturing primary school in Sheffield is looking for a dedicated Behaviour Support member of staff to help pupils develop positive behaviours, confidence, and engagement in learning.

About the Role:
As a Behaviour Support member of staff, you will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support pupils who may experience behavioural, social, emotional, or additional learning challenges. You will provide both classroom and one-to-one support, helping pupils regulate behaviour, stay engaged in lessons, and build positive relationships with peers and staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide behaviour and emotional support to pupils across the school

  • Support children on a one-to-one basis and in small group settings

  • Help maintain a calm, structured, and positive learning environment

  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in classroom activities

  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to implement behaviour strategies

  • Build supportive relationships with pupils to promote confidence and wellbeing

  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to school staff

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable

  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills

  • Calm, patient, and resilient approach

  • Ability to build positive and professional relationships

  • Flexible and proactive attitude towards supporting pupils

  • Genuine passion for supporting children within education
