Head of Design Technology – Secondary School
Location: Grimsby & Skegness
Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract Type: Permanent | Full-time
GSL Education is seeking a motivated and innovative Head of Design Technology (ideally with Graphics and Engineering experience if possible) for a secondary school in Grimsby & Skegness starting in September 2026. This permanent role is ideal for an experienced teacher ready to lead a successful department and inspire students through engaging practical learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Design Technology department across KS3 and KS4
- Deliver engaging and practical DT lessons
- Monitor student progress and departmental performance
- Support curriculum planning and development
- Mentor and support teaching staff within the department
- Promote a positive learning environment and high expectations
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching Design Technology in secondary schools
- Leadership experience or the ambition to progress into leadership
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- A commitment to raising standards and student achievement
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
