Head of Design Technology – Secondary School
Location: Skegness
Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract Type: Permanent | Full-time
GSL Education is seeking an experienced and ambitious Head of Design Technology to join a secondary school in Skegness from September 2026. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a passionate educator who can drive high standards within the DT department and inspire students through creative and practical learning.
The successful candidate will lead the Design Technology department, oversee curriculum development, and support staff and students to achieve excellent outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Design Technology department
- Plan and deliver engaging DT lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)
- Monitor curriculum quality and student progress
- Support and develop departmental staff
- Promote creativity, innovation, and practical skills
- Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching Design Technology in secondary schools
- Previous middle leadership experience or readiness for leadership responsibilities
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills
- A passion for student achievement and curriculum development
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
