English Teacher – SEMH Provision

Location: Selby
Salary: £32,916 – £51,048 per annum
Contract: Full Time / Part Time
Start Date: Immediate or September 2026

GSL Education are seeking a resilient and experienced English Teacher to support a specialist provision in Selby.

About the School

This specialist setting supports pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs and behavioural challenges. The provision offers a structured and nurturing environment focused on relationship building, emotional regulation and re-engagement with education.

Responsibilities

  • Teach English across KS3 and KS4
  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to SEMH learners
  • Support pupils with behavioural and emotional needs
  • Implement behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
  • Monitor progress and support pupil development

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • SEMH / behaviour teaching experience is essential
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Resilient, patient and adaptable approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
