Job Title: Attendance Officer
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £460 – £600 per week
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term / Day-to-day
Start Date: Immediately

A welcoming secondary school in Sheffield is looking to appoint a dedicated Attendance Officer to help promote excellent attendance and ensure students receive the support they need to thrive in education.

About the Role:
As an Attendance Officer, you will play a key role in monitoring and improving student attendance across the school. You will work closely with pupils, parents, carers and staff to identify attendance concerns, provide support where needed and help remove barriers to learning. This role requires strong organisation, attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor daily student attendance and maintain accurate records

  • Follow up on absences and communicate with parents and carers

  • Support the school in promoting positive attendance and punctuality

  • Work closely with pastoral and safeguarding teams

  • Identify attendance patterns and raise concerns where appropriate

  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure attendance data is updated accurately

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working within a school or educational setting is desirable

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities

  • A professional, proactive and reliable approach

  • Ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality

  • A genuine commitment to supporting young people and education
