Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Barnsley
Salary: £460 – £650 per week
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term / Day-to-day
Start Date: Immediately
Are you confident managing groups of young people and supporting learning in a school environment? A range of secondary schools in Barnsley are seeking reliable and adaptable Cover Supervisors to provide effective classroom supervision across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising whole classes during teacher absence, ensuring students complete pre-set work and remain focused throughout lessons. You will play a key role in maintaining classroom order, supporting behaviour expectations and ensuring continuity of learning across a variety of subjects.
Responsibilities:

Supervise classes during teacher absence

Ensure students remain on task with pre-set work

Manage behaviour in line with school policies

Maintain a calm and structured learning environment

Support student engagement and focus throughout lessons

Report any concerns to relevant staff where necessary

Adapt to different subjects and classroom settings
Requirements:

Experience working with young people in an educational setting is desirable

Strong communication and behaviour management skills

Confident, professional and calm approach

Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations

Reliable and committed attitude

Genuine interest in supporting student learning
