Job Title: Design and Technology Teacher
Location: Sheffield
Pay rate: Upto £220 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are looking for a skilled Design and Technology Teacher to work in schools across Sheffield, delivering high-quality lessons that develop students’ technical knowledge, creativity, and practical abilities.

In this role, you will plan and deliver structured Design and Technology lessons, supporting students in designing, creating, and evaluating projects while encouraging independent thinking and hands-on learning.

About the role

As a Design and Technology (DT) Teacher, you will play a key role in helping students apply creative and technical skills to real-world challenges. You will create a safe, engaging, and supportive classroom environment where pupils can develop confidence and practical experience.

Core responsibilities of Design and Technology Teacher:

  • Deliver well-planned Design and Technology lessons aligned with the curriculum
  • Support pupils in designing, making, and evaluating practical projects
  • Promote safe use of tools, equipment, and workshop materials
  • Encourage creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills
  • Maintain positive classroom behaviour and an organised learning environment
  • Assess pupil progress and provide constructive feedback

What we are looking for:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching Design and Technology in a school setting
  • Strong knowledge of workshop safety and practical materials
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
