Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Barnsley
Salary: £460 – £650 per week
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term / Day-to-day
Start Date: Immediately

About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising whole classes during teacher absence, ensuring students remain on task with the work provided. You will play a key role in maintaining a productive learning environment, managing behaviour effectively, and supporting students to stay engaged throughout lessons.
Responsibilities:

Supervise classes in the absence of the class teacher

Ensure students complete set work and remain focused

Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies

Provide clear instructions and support where needed

Report any concerns or incidents to relevant staff

Maintain a safe, structured and positive learning environment
Requirements:

Experience working with children or young people is desirable

Strong communication and classroom management skills

Confident, calm and professional approach

Ability to adapt to different subjects and year groups

A genuine interest in supporting education and student progress
