Job Title: Science Teacher

A number of secondary schools in Barnsley are seeking a confident and passionate Science Teacher to deliver engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. This is a fantastic opportunity for an educator who enjoys making science accessible, practical and engaging for all learners.

About the Role:
As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering well-structured lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics, adapting content to meet a range of learning needs. You will create an engaging classroom environment where students are encouraged to explore scientific concepts, develop practical skills and achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across KS3 and KS4

Assess, track and report on student progress

Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies

Adapt teaching to meet varying learning needs and abilities

Maintain a safe and structured laboratory environment where applicable

Support student engagement and achievement in Science

Work collaboratively with departmental staff
Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (desirable)

Experience teaching Science in secondary school settings

Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry and Physics

Confident classroom and behaviour management skills

Ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons

Professional, reliable and adaptable approach
