Job Title: Care Support Assistant
Location: Newcastle
Salary: £95 – £115 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are currently recruiting enthusiastic and supportive Care Support Assistants to work in schools across Newcastle.
This rewarding role involves supporting students with additional care, emotional, and learning needs throughout the school day. The successful candidate will work closely with students and staff to provide encouragement, promote independence, and help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities of a Care Support Assistant:
- Support students with additional care and learning needs within the classroom
- Provide one-to-one and small group support where required
- Assist students with daily routines and classroom activities
- Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and independence
- Support students’ emotional wellbeing and social development
- Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
- Help maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
- Assist with implementing individual support and behaviour plans where necessary
Requirements of a Care Support Assistant:
- Experience working with children, young people, or individuals with additional needs is desirable
- Caring, patient, and supportive nature
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A genuine passion for supporting students’ development and wellbeing
- Relevant care, support work, or education experience is beneficial
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
