Job Title: English Teacher
Location: Gateshead
Pay rate: £160 - £220 Per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are searching for a committed English Teacher to work in schools across Gateshead, delivering engaging lessons that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and academic progress.

In this role, you will plan and deliver structured English lessons, supporting pupils in developing strong literacy, analytical, and communication skills within a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

About the role:

As an English Teacher, you will play a key role in helping students explore literature, improve written and spoken communication, and build confidence in expressing ideas effectively.

Prime responsibilities of English Teacher:

  • Deliver well-planned English lessons aligned with the curriculum
  • Support pupils in developing reading, writing, and communication skills
  • Encourage analysis, discussion, and creative expression
  • Maintain positive classroom behaviour and an engaging learning environment
  • Assess pupil progress and provide constructive feedback

What we are looking for:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching English in a school setting
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
  • Passion for supporting student development and achievement

  • Have an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
