Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant – High and Complex ASD
Location: Finsbury Park
Salary: £108 – £115 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Long Term, Full-time
Working Hours: 8:15 AM – 3:45 PM

GSL Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant – High and Complex ASD to join a supportive school in Finsbury Park.
This rewarding position involves providing tailored 1:1 support for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and complex learning needs. You will play a vital role in helping students access learning, develop communication and social skills, and progress within a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment.
Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant – High and Complex ASD:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for students with high and complex ASD needs
- Support students’ academic, emotional, and social development
- Assist students in accessing classroom activities and learning tasks
- Implement personalised support strategies and behaviour plans
- Build strong, positive, and trusting relationships with students
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff
- Support communication, sensory, and emotional regulation needs
- Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
Requirements of an SEN Teaching Assistant – High and Complex ASD:
- Minimum 1 year experience supporting children with high-needs ASD
- Recent primary and/or secondary school-based experience
- Experience supporting SEN students on a 1:1 basis
- Calm, patient, resilient, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
