Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Southgate, Enfield
Salary: £108 – £115 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Long Term, Full-time
Working Hours: 8:15 AM – 3:45 PM

GSL Education are currently looking for a dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Southgate, Enfield.

This is a rewarding opportunity to provide tailored 1:1 support for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and additional learning needs. The successful candidate will support students throughout the school day, helping them engage with learning, build confidence, improve communication skills, and achieve positive developmental progress within a structured and nurturing environment.

Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide dedicated one-to-one support for students with complex ASD needs
  • Support students’ academic, social, and emotional development
  • Assist students in accessing classroom activities and learning tasks
  • Implement personalised support strategies and behaviour plans
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with students
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff
  • Support students with communication, emotional regulation, and engagement
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment

SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year experience supporting children with high-needs ASD
  • Recent primary and/or secondary school-based experience
  • Experience supporting students with SEN on a 1:1 basis
  • Calm, patient, and resilient approach to supporting learners
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
