Position: Teacher of Science
Location: Rochford
Salary Scale: £120- £320 per day
Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2026
GSL are seeking an enthusiastic Teacher of Science to support students in a secondary school setting across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. This role involves delivering high-quality Science lessons and helping students develop strong scientific knowledge, practical skills, and critical thinking across the 11–18 age range.
You will work alongside experienced teachers and support staff to help students access the curriculum, build confidence, and achieve their full academic and personal potential.

You will have opportunities for professional development and will support students in a range of settings, including:
- Delivering engaging Science lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5
- Supporting exam preparation and assessment readiness at GCSE and A-Level
- Monitoring and supporting student progress through targeted feedback
- Enrichment and extracurricular activities such as STEM clubs, trips, and wider school events
As a Teacher of Science, you will play a key role in supporting students’ academic progress and personal development. You will work closely with colleagues and other professionals to deliver high-quality teaching and create a positive learning environment that enables all students to succeed.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality Science lessons
- Inspire students through engaging practical and theoretical teaching
- Prepare students for assessments and examinations
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental improvement
- Work collaboratively with colleagues within the department and wider school
- Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and a passion for learning
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Qualifications and Skills:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Degree in a Science-related subject
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Science education
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- Commitment to raising aspirations and improving outcomes for all learners
- A proactive, innovative, and collaborative approach
