Position: Teacher of IT/Computer Science
Location: Rochford
Salary Scale: £120 - £300 Per day
Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2026
GSL are seeking an enthusiastic Teacher of IT/Computer Science to join a forward-thinking secondary school environment. This role involves teaching students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with the potential for Key Stage 5), supporting them in developing digital skills, computational thinking, and confidence in an ever-evolving technological world.
You will work alongside experienced teachers and support staff in a school undergoing an exciting period of growth and transformation, helping students to achieve their full academic potential while fostering innovation, curiosity, and ambition.

You will have opportunities for professional development and will teach in a range of settings, including:
- Delivering engaging and dynamic IT/Computer Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and KS5 where applicable)
- Supporting exam preparation, coursework, and programming development
- Encouraging digital literacy, problem-solving, and computational thinking
- Contributing to extracurricular activities such as coding clubs or tech-based enrichment
- Supporting the development of a modern and innovative curriculum
As a Teacher of IT/Computer Science, you will play a key role in inspiring students and preparing them for future pathways in technology. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver a high-quality curriculum and contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality IT/Computer Science lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4 (and KS5 where applicable)
- Inspire students to develop confidence and competence in digital and computing skills
- Prepare students for GCSE and/or A-Level assessments
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback
- Contribute to curriculum development and innovation within the department
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student achievement
- Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and independent learning
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment
Qualifications and Skills:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related subject (or equivalent experience)
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for technology and education
- Ability to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable)
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- Commitment to continuous professional development
- Ability to inspire and motivate students from all backgrounds
