Level 2 Teaching Assistant – Scunthorpe

Full-Time | Monday to Friday

GSL Education are currently seeking a committed and resilient Level 2 Teaching Assistant to work full-time within a supportive school in Scunthorpe. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviour, helping them to engage positively in learning and reach their full potential.
The Role:
You will work closely with pupils who require additional support to access learning, both on a 1:1 basis and in small group settings. The role involves promoting positive behaviour, building strong and trusting relationships, and helping to create a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
- Support students to engage in learning activities and remain focused in lessons
- Help promote positive behaviour strategies and emotional regulation
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers
- Assist teaching staff in delivering a supportive and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
- Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
- Experience working with children with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
- Previous experience in a school or similar educational setting (desirable)
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills
- A patient, resilient, and proactive approach
- Full-time availability (Monday to Friday) is essential
